Hi Łukasz! How was your last weekend?
I've finished the first Switch Grand Prix regatta of the year. The field was strong, with 25 competitors at the starting line, including the current runner-up. A full set of 10 races were held over three days.
How did you feel in this group? How did it go?
I approached the competition very confidently, ready to fight for top spots. On the first day, I sailed very well in the first race, staying in the top three, but due to several major tactical errors, I finished 11th this time.
You finished in the middle of the pack, mostly among Italians who were—you might say—racing at home. How do you feel about that?
It's not a dream result, because I definitely went there to fight for a podium. I've had many races like that. I only managed to finish two races in the top five. However, on the other hand, I'm glad it happened now and not later. I still have time to work hard on the mistakes I made, learn from them, and come back stronger.
So what's next? Where can we support you?
I'm learning a lot from this regatta; I know what I need to work on in the coming months and what to improve. I have two months of intense training ahead of me before the next Grand Prix in Torbole, Poland, and abroad.

Łukasz Machowski is a Polish regatta sailor, Polish champion, and medalist at the Junior World Championships in the Olympic 49er class. He began his career in the Laser classes, winning, among other titles, the Polish Championship (ILCA 6). Since 2021, he has also been developing his skills in foiling sailing, where he won the Polish Moth Class Championship in 2025. He is the founder and head coach of the Foiling Academy, the first school in Poland training on boats with hydrofoils. He currently represents the Yacht Club Sopot and competes in the Switch class.
