Orient Star launches the M34 F8 Date, a practical watch with a date display
February 17, 2024
Orient Star presents the M34 F8 Date, the new flagship timepiece from the M34 Contemporary Collection. With a unique dial design inspired by the Perseid meteor shower in the constellation Pereus, and a state-of-the-art, high-performance movement mounted with a silicon escape wheel, the flagship M34 F8 Date forges a new path for Orient Star.
Two models are available: a white-dial model, limited to 160 pieces, and a blue-dial model, which will join the brand's core collection. The white dial features a hand-carved pattern depicting the Perseid meteor shower, while the regular model's dial is further enhanced with a blue color representing the night sky.
This captivating color is achieved using Epson's optical multi-layer technology, which creates a tonal effect on a metal plate. The optical multi-layer film controls the reflection and transmission of light through multiple layers of nano-thin transparent film, achieving a result that would be impossible with ordinary paint.
Like the dial color, the new M34 F8 Date movement is also equipped with advanced technology. The automatic mechanical caliber F8N64 is mounted with a silicon escape wheel, which has become one of Orient Star's signature technologies since it first appeared in the 2021 Skeleton model celebrating the brand's 70th anniversary. It offers high accuracy and a 60-hour power reserve.
The timepieces will be available throughout Europe, priced between €2,500 and €2,700. More information can be found at Orient-watch.com
