CANA garden kitchens – a luxury lifestyle
February 5, 2024
An interview with Jarosław Goraj, CEO of the Optimum Group, a visionary and dreamer, and at the same time a man who consistently puts his plans into practice, the originator of the CANA brand – luxury garden kitchens that set global standards and introduced Poland to the idea of outdoor living & cooking.
In your company, you've created a work model based on the "turquoise organization." This management model is still relatively unpopular in Poland. What benefits does this work system bring to the CANA brand?
The turquoise organization is based on collaboration, with management in many areas entrusted to a team. Trust and good relationships are crucial. CANA houses a design studio, showroom, and atelier, where tailor-made outdoor kitchens are created. Although the team is small, it is united by commitment and passion. People listen to each other and solve problems collaboratively. This results in increasingly perfect products – luxurious kitchens, refined in every detail.
CANA is a garden, outdoor kitchen. Where did the idea to create such a product come from?
When building my house and arranging the garden, I wanted to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional space in the garden, a hub for family and social life. I wanted this space to become the heart of the garden. The kitchen and dining room are always such places in our homes. Therefore, the idea was born to move their functions outdoors, directly into the garden. Until the creation of the CANA brand, the Polish market lacked exclusive outdoor kitchens offering so many possibilities. The CANA team's mission was to create a garden kitchen unparalleled in the industry, with a well-thought-out and refined design, exceptional in terms of design, quality, and durability. A Polish brand promoting innovation, aesthetics, functionality, and the quality of its solutions.
Outdoor kitchens are a growing, yet still small, category. How do you see them developing?
CANA is the concept of outdoor living & cooking, a lifestyle that combines cooking and spending time together outdoors – in the garden or on a city terrace. We promote the rich and diverse European traditions of outdoor living & cooking and al fresco: Italian cuisine all'aperto, French cuisine en plein air, Spanish cocina al aire libre , and German Grillkulturare the most well-known examples. While outdoor cooking isn't unusual in southern Europe, it's still a novelty in Poland and requires awareness-raising. We want to open up new possibilities for our fellow countrymen and show that al fresco and grilling can also be a refined cuisine and a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends.
So what makes CANA kitchens stand out?
CANA garden kitchens are carefully thought out from start to finish, from design and material selection to artisanal production. Monolithic stainless steel modules and natural quartz sinters are the result of state-of-the-art technology. The precise finishing of every kitchen detail is the result of the craftsmanship and experience of CANA's master craftsmen during the final stages of production. A distinctive feature of CANA kitchens is the ability to create custom configurations of both color and equipment. Each CANA kitchen is unique and unrepeatable, tailored to individual preferences and leisure habits. It creates a beautiful, exclusive form of small garden architecture.
The Optimum Group, of which you are president, represents not only the CANA brand but also other areas of business activity. And not only business – also charitable activities.
The company's name is a guiding principle of our business practice – we always strive to fully utilize opportunities, develop the most beneficial solutions, and achieve our goals. The Optimum Group actively operates in several market sectors. Its core business is energy, with another crucial sector being real estate development. Personally, developing charitable projects that support local communities is crucial to me. Examples include our collaboration with the Ziarnko Maku Foundation and the construction of CEDR – the Center for Education, Diagnosis, and Development – a place where we accompany young people and their families on their journey to adulthood, providing holistic care and nurturing their physical, mental, and spiritual development. With the new year, I'm embarking on a new challenge – the SELA Foundation, of which I am the founder, is launching its operations, and which I hope will soon be heard throughout Poland.
