JUMEIRAH PORT SOLLER MALLORCA – SOPHISTICATED AND UNRIVALLED SERVICE
October 24, 2021
After an unpleasant 18 months of two lockdowns, constant Covid testing and a lot of sad news, the excitement of a long-awaited trip, albeit with necessary restrictions, is simply enormous.
We arrived at Palma de Mallorca Airport without a hitch, passed through security and customs, and were met by an air-conditioned, ultra-luxurious limousine that took us to Jumeirah Port Soller. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was seamless, taking just 30 minutes.
We were warmly welcomed by the hotel porters and reception staff, and a delicious fresh orange juice and a cool towel provided a welcome refreshment after our journey. We were soon escorted to our Junior Suite on the seventh floor, with a view that was undoubtedly one of the most spectacular on the island. Sadly, due to restrictions, I haven't had much opportunity to travel recently, but I'm even more thrilled to have been immediately assigned to a hotel room with a breathtaking view! The views of the sea, cliffs, and surrounding mountains were absolutely stunning; I sat and soaked them up on the south-facing balcony for a good hour. My stress melted away after just a moment of admiring the fantastic panorama.
The hotel is situated on a cliff top overlooking stunning seascapes, the ocean below shimmers a bright azure blue and the super yachts on the horizon make the view even more poetic.
We unpacked immediately after exploring the many amenities in the room – electric curtains, huge sliding glass doors to the balcony with plush loungers, a fabulous bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large bathtub.
We had a wardrobe, a safe, a selection of teas and coffee, a mini-bar, and finally, a huge and sumptuous king-size bed. I didn't want to waste the day sleeping, but I couldn't wait for the evening and the moment I'd lie down in that magnificent bed!
That day we woke up very early, so we decided to relax by the infinity pool on the eighth floor, settled under an umbrella with our first cocktail of the holiday and a club sandwich, and immediately fell asleep, listening to the soft music by the pool and the quiet conversations of other hotel guests.
The hotel is simply enormous, sprawling on the edge of a cliff, but it runs like clockwork. The Jumeirah team ensures your stay is top-notch, fulfilling your wishes promptly and with a friendly smile.
This is the most elegant hotel, a true jewel in the Jumeirah Group's crown, sophisticated and incredibly stylish, offering a wealth of exquisite and diverse culinary experiences.
We ate breakfast at Cap Roig Brasserie on a stunning terrace overlooking the magnificent ocean. Named after the red-colored fish that inhabits the coast of Soller, Cap Roig Brasserie offers top-quality, fresh, seasonal produce sourced directly from the Mediterranean, perfect for a romantic evening.
Sa Talaia Pool Bar offers a truly relaxing atmosphere and an excellent menu, perfect for enjoying by the pool or indoors. It serves light snacks inspired by locally sourced ingredients, perfect after a refreshing dip in the pool.
We spent a wonderful evening at Sunset Lounge, listening to a DJ play great music. It was a pleasant evening, sitting in high, comfortable chairs and enjoying Nikkei-inspired delicacies, a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. Seabass ceviche or tiradito are paired with a selection of world-class cocktails. Honestly, I could eat here every night; I don't think I'll ever tire of the atmosphere and the fabulous dining experiences they have to offer.
Es Fanals by Javier Sorano Es Fanals is a restaurant that brings traditional Spanish cuisine to life with a rich selection of tapas. These are another inspiring delicacy to savor. The service and knowledge of the staff were incredible, the food was delicious, and the views were stunning.
The hotel is just a five-minute taxi ride to Port Soller, where there are numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars, but we didn't feel the need to leave the hotel as there was enough choice within the hotel grounds. We enjoyed every restaurant in Jumeirah Port Soller and couldn't really choose between them. Breakfast at Cap Roig was perfect, as was the paella we enjoyed there one evening. The tapas at Es Fanals was sublime, as were the wonderful Japanese-Peruvian dishes. While we enjoyed relaxing by the pool, a few early evening cocktails were definitely a must.
Speaking of relaxation, I was fortunate enough to enjoy an hour at the spa in the capable hands of one of the therapists, she managed to induce a deep sleep and after twenty minutes in the relaxation area by the spa pool, I felt fully alive, balanced and energized.
The hotel concierge's service is second to none, offering excellent knowledge of local attractions and restaurants. We spent a few special hours on a spectacular yacht with the crew of Perfect Charter Mallorca on a sunset cruise, complete with bubbles and snacks (partnered with Jumeirah Port Soller). It's a truly romantic and fun way to spend the early evening and experience Mallorca's stunning Jurassic coastline. The yacht can accommodate up to 10 people, making it perfect for romance or a luxurious celebration.
If you're feeling the urge to explore the beautiful island of Mallorca, as we were, Roig Drive Mallorca offers a fantastic luxury car rental service. We took a ride in a fabulous Mini convertible along the coastline and up mountain roads, feeling comfortable and stylish in the convertible. The car was sent to our hotel early in the morning and picked up on our departure day, fully insured and with a full tank of fuel. It perfectly complemented our trip.
We would like to thank the entire Jumeirah team in Port Soller for their royal care, and since you treat all your guests like royalty, we will definitely be back.
