Live cooking – the art of live cooking
May 18, 2021
Access to the internet, and therefore thousands of recipes, means that cooking is no longer a sad necessity, but rather a pure pleasure and an interesting way to spend your free time. What is live cooking and under what circumstances might we encounter it?
LIVE COOKING – WHAT IS IT AND HOW DID IT COME TO BE?
Literally translated, live cooking means cooking in person . In practice, it can take the form of workshops or culinary demonstrations (also available online or on television), or a show treated as an attraction to an order placed at a restaurant.
The first radio broadcast dedicated to cooking workshops took place in the United States in 1926. The idea of live cooking quickly gained popularity in the 1980s, when Asian chefs "came out to guests," presenting spectacular demonstrations of the process of creating their chosen dishes.
LIVE COOKING AS A KIND OF PERFORMANCE
The popularity of this activity stems primarily from the opportunity for participants to interact with the chef . We have a unique opportunity to see firsthand how our favorite dish is made. Live cooking currently takes many forms, including:
- a culinary workshop during which participants can prepare a given meal themselves, thanks to the chef's instructions;
- culinary show – during it, the chef presents the recipe from scratch, presents the products used (always fresh and personally selected by the chef), shares tips on seasoning or decorating the tableware;
- a form of attraction – the so-called open kitchen – we can observe the chef at work without participating in the actual preparation process; alternatively, we can order a live cooking service for all kinds of special events (private and business).
WHERE CAN WE USE THE LIVE COOKING SERVICE?
If cooking is your passion and you'd like to deepen your culinary knowledge under the guidance of a renowned chef, ask your favorite restaurant about preparing dinner with the chef . You can be sure that the ingredients they choose will always be fresh and of the highest quality.
Hiring a private chef is an equally interesting option , especially after a hard day at work when you don't have the time to shop and prepare a filling and healthy meal. The chef will bring the necessary ingredients, tableware, and cutlery, and while cooking together, you'll gain valuable tips, soothe your nerves, and ultimately prepare a delicious meal.
