Luxury Boutique is a media partner of the Paris art week Art Paris 2026

February 19, 2026

The Luxury Boutique online editorial team is pleased to announce the official media partnership with the 28th edition of Art Paris, the modern and contemporary art fair. The event will take place from April 9 to 12, 2026, under the renovated roof of the Grand Palais in Paris. Approximately 165 French and international galleries representing nearly twenty countries will participate in the upcoming edition.

The exhibitor structure reveals a distinct market mix: 60% are French galleries, while the remaining 40% are foreign entities. A significant signal for the market is the fact that 29% of participants are new exhibitors, making their debut at the event.

New international institutions will be joining the fair, including Lumen Travo from Amsterdam and RocioSantaCruz from Barcelona. Established gallery brands, including Galleria Continua, Jeanne Bucher Jaeger, Galerie Lelong, Nathalie Obadia, and Almine Rech, have also confirmed their continued presence.

The full list of institutions vying for collectors’ attention also includes such establishments as: 22.48m2 from Romainville, AA Gallery from Casablanca, Galerie Alain Hélou from Brest, Galerie Bao in Paris, Galerie Anne-Laure Buffard and The Bridge Gallery, as well as C+N Gallery Canepaneri operating in Genoa and Milan and Cassandra Bird Gallery operating on the Sydney-Paris axis.

Curatorial assumptions: Babel and Reparation

Art Paris 2026 is distinguished by two main themes. The first is the exhibition "Babel – Art and Language in France," overseen by curator and art historian Loïc Le Gall, director of the Passerelle Centre d'Art Contemporain in Brest since 2019. The exhibition presents the work of 21 artists represented by participating galleries. In line with Le Gall's vision, the project examines the relationship between art and linguistic structures and sign systems in France. The title is a direct reference to the influential conceptual group Art & Language, whose approach questioned the nature of art through the prism of logic and philosophy.

The selected works, ranging from figurative to completely abstract, draw on the process of deconstruction inherent in Roland Barthes's semiotic theory, deconstructing language into discrete fragments to explore the archaeology of meaning. The artists explore the materiality of letters themselves and the mutual tension between text and image. This exhibition invites us to reconsider our relationship with symbols and reflect on how we individually and collectively construct and decode the world around us.

The second section, titled "Reparation," takes a global approach and is curated by Alexia Fabre, Executive Director of the Centre Pompidou Francilien in Massy. Her achievements also include co-curating an exhibition at the RMN Grand Palais in 2019 and serving as President of the Videomuseum, a professional network of public collections of modern and contemporary art.

This section brings together works by approximately twenty artists from around the world. According to the curator, the concept of repair refers to reconstruction—both physical and symbolic. The works allude to notions of care, the preservation of objects and history, as well as the reconstruction of the subject in the face of past wounds or historical silences. The process of repair is interpreted here as a category of resistance, resilience, and recontextualization.

"Promesses" - early market evaluation

For gallerists and collectors seeking early acquisition opportunities, the "Promesses" section is a key part of the fair. This section is dedicated to emerging galleries that have been in business for less than ten years. Located on the south balconies of the Grand Palais, the section will house 27 galleries, whose selection is overseen by Marc Donnadieu, an independent curator and art critic. Donnadieu is also the former chief curator at Photo Élysée in Lausanne and a curator at LaM Lille Métropole.

In this sector, 50% of participants will be exhibiting for the first time, and 44% are international, originating from countries such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, and Singapore. Exhibitors will present the work of a total of 56 emerging artists, over half of whom (55%) are women. Financially supported by the organizers (the cost of a 20-square-meter stand is €10,000 net), this sector provides a direct platform for observing and analyzing new market phenomena.

Monographic exhibitions and artist profiles

In parallel to the main sections, 25 monographic exhibitions are planned in the "Solo Show" format. This format allows for an in-depth exploration of the work of modern, contemporary, and emerging artists, thus providing the opportunity for an in-depth analysis of individual artists' portfolios, crucial for estimating value.

The artists slated for the monographic presentation include Ben Arpea (193 Gallery), Lara Bloy (Galerie Pauline Renard), Nicolas Boulard (22.48 m²), and the now-historical artist Bernard Buffet. The artists selected for thematic exhibitions and the main exhibition include Nú Barreto from Guinea-Bissau (Galerie Nathalie Obadia), Oliver Beer from the UK (Galerie Almine Rech), Anaïs Boudot from France (Binome), Javier Carro Temboury from Spain (SAILLY), and Teresa Gancedo (Galerie RocioSantaCruz).

Supporting the Women in Art Market: Her Art Prize 2026

A significant institutional aspect of Art Paris 2026 is the Her Art Prize, launched in 2025. Organized in partnership with Marie Claire magazine and the jewelry house Maison Boucheron, the prize honors the achievements, careers, and contributions of women artists attending the fair to the development of the discipline. The winner will receive market support in the form of a €30,000 financial award.

The winner will be selected by a prestigious jury composed of representatives from the art and creative industries. The jury will be chaired by actress and artist Louise Bourgoin. The panel also includes professionals from the art and creative industries: director Alice Diop, author and musician Raphaël Haroche, curator Erin Jeona Gilbert, CEO of Art Paris Valentine Lecêtre, Content Director of Marie Claire International Galia Loupan, AWARE Director Camille Morineau, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire France Katell Pouliquen, CEO of Boucheron Hélène Poulit-Duquesnes, and entrepreneur and artist Michèle Lamy. The award ceremony will take place on April 11, 2026.

For industry clients, decision-makers and invited guests, the fair will offer a dedicated VIP program, including 33 exclusive visits and guided tours of Parisian cultural institutions.
