The 2024 Bugatti Grand Tour in Morocco wasn't just about driving a great car
January 11, 2025
The 2024 Bugatti Grand Tour in Morocco was a celebration of automotive craftsmanship, a journey that transcended the ordinary and transported us to the extraordinary. From the shimmering shores of the Mediterranean to the golden expanses of the Sahara. Under the patronage of His Royal Majesty, King Mohammed VI, the 2024 Grand Tour took select Bugatti owners on a journey through Morocco's inspiring landscapes. From smooth and picturesque coastal roads to majestic mountain passes and enchanting deserts, the tour combined natural beauty, architectural splendor, and local gastronomic splendor. Drivers navigated bustling cities and picturesque towns, all while enjoying the thrill of driving their Bugatti.
Beginning at the Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, we were welcomed with refined elegance. The hotel, a fusion of traditional Moroccan design and modern sophistication, served as a gateway to the vibrant beauty of North Africa. Against the backdrop of green hills, we took a souvenir photo, our Bugatti gleaming like jewels in the sun.
A convoy of thirteen exceptional hypercars, including the legendary Veyron and the record-breaking Chiron Super Sport 300+, capable of reaching speeds of over 480 km/h, embarked on a journey that showcased the uniqueness and diversity of Morocco. With the engines humming, we glided along coastal roads where the Mediterranean and Atlantic seemed to merge, their waves whispering ancient secrets to the rocky shores.
Our journey took us to Chefchaouen, the iconic Blue Pearl, where the narrow, winding streets, bathed in shades of indigo, offered a peaceful respite. From there, we headed south to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Entering the Atlas Mountains, our Bugattis encountered rugged terrain, a striking contrast to their smooth, aerodynamic shapes. Nature reveals its most diverse facets in this majestic mountain range. Snow-capped peaks contrast with verdant valleys dotted with terraced fields and villages seemingly suspended in time. Mountain streams meander among the steep slopes, creating oases of lush vegetation. Higher up, the landscape becomes stark, with rugged cliffs and deep gorges that take your breath away. The silence and tranquility of these mountains, interrupted only by birdsong and the rustle of the wind, make the Atlas a place where natural beauty meets spiritual harmony.
Descending from altitude, the convoy approached the vast desert landscapes of southern Morocco. The shifting dunes and rocky plains of Erfoud provided a dramatic backdrop for the elegant vehicles, their engines seemingly shattering the timeless silence of the Sahara. An overnight stay under a canopy of stars made the stark landscape seem closer and more welcoming.
The tour culminated in a drive along the winding roads of the Dades Gorge, a natural masterpiece of towering cliffs and winding rivers. A test of precision and skill, the Serpentine Road highlighted the unparalleled engineering of Bugatti's creations, combining thrill and artistry in perfect harmony.
The journey concluded in Marrakech, a city bursting with life and color. We visited the Jardin Majorelle and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent, immersing ourselves in Morocco's rich artistic heritage. We said goodbye at the Mandarin Oriental, where we celebrated our adventure with exquisite cuisine and fine wine.
The Bugatti Grand Tour in Morocco was more than just a ride—it was a symphony of speed and culture. A story of discovery and a testament to the relentless pursuit of perfection.
