THE ELE COLLECTION – JEWELRY WITH A MESSAGE

Andy Hogg, founder and managing director of The Bushcamp Company, conceived the idea for the Elephant Collection and brought it from concept to fruition. Elephants are a vital part of life at Mfuwe Lodge; each year, elephants pass through the reception area to reach the wild mango tree in the courtyard, and honoring and protecting these gentle giants has always been close to Andy's heart.

The ELE collection was born from the desire to protect elephants and wildlife while supporting local communities, while giving buyers a piece of jewelry and a lasting keepsake.

It all started when Andy saw a two-dimensional elephant pendant and thought someone should design a three-dimensional one. He began sketching his vision, then took the idea to a South African jewelry designer to create a prototype. Andy refined the concept, and the Ele Collection was born!

The collection has grown over the years. It began with silver Ele pendants, in three sizes, set with diamonds or emeralds. Currently, the jewelry collection has expanded to include gold pendants. We also offer earrings and bracelets, both bangles and cuffs. We can also create custom pieces (white gold, rose gold, sapphire eyes, etc.).

These products are unique to The Bushcamp Company. The collection is well-made, well-priced, and perfect for both casual and formal occasions. The large pendants weigh approximately 23g of gold or sterling silver.

The collection now extends beyond jewelry. We have a clothing line, including T-shirts and hats, as well as keychains—all featuring the Ele Collection design.

We sell our products in our jewelry store at Mfuwe Lodge and also ship to customers worldwide. Our jewelry has been purchased by customers from all over the world – Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The essence of this project is that sales raise funds for elephant conservation in South Luangwa National Park and for The Bushcamp Company's own Commit to Clean Water program.

For many years, The Bushcamp Company has supported Conservation South Luangwa, a local NGO that conducts, among other activities, patrols and anti-poaching activities within South Luangwa National Park. Ele's fundraising effort has enabled us to continue and strengthen this support.

The "Commit to Clean Water" program focuses on drilling boreholes (deep wells) in local communities. Since the program's inception, we have drilled nearly 200 boreholes, each providing fresh drinking water to nearly 300 people daily. These boreholes have had a significant impact on the daily lives of users: they no longer have to travel long distances to rivers and streams, often encountering hippos and elephants along the way, and even crocodiles right by the river. They no longer have to risk their health by drinking unsafe river water; the boreholes are deep enough to provide clean drinking water and drought resistance. Furthermore, this access to water means children can remain in school and are not sent to collect water for their families.

Bushcamp works closely with local village heads and village heads regarding well placement to ensure local support and buy-in, which leads to better long-term well care and maintenance.
