Al Sud continues to shine in 2023 as the restaurant celebrates retaining its Michelin star award.
December 18, 2022
Al Sud restaurant in the Algarve, which earned its first Michelin star just seven months after opening in 2022, has retained the prestigious distinction for 2023, featuring in the newly released Michelin Guide Spain and Portugal 2023.
Owned and operated by Kronos Homes, Al Sud at Palmares Ocean Living & Golf, a luxury oceanfront resort in the Algarve, celebrates the flavors of “al sud” (“the south”) under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Louis Anjos, who also oversees the resort’s hotel and club restaurants.
Under Chef Anjos's leadership, every guest at Palmares experiences the traditional flavors of the Algarve at their finest. The Michelin Guide describes the resort as a place to "de-stress and relax," as Chef Anjos "conjures delicate, creative cuisine that showcases the ingredients of the Algarve.".
This level of luxury attracts the wealthiest people traveling to Portugal, preparing for a vacation experience. Increasingly, a Michelin star is something wealthy second-home buyers are considering when deciding to purchase a home. It's a new kind of attraction in a luxury resort, and Palmares Ocean Living & Golf in Portugal is a prime example.
"We're seeing a surge in interest from buyers looking for something ultra-luxurious. Buyers are looking for the ultimate resort lifestyle, and amenities like Michelin-starred restaurants on-site complement buyers' expectations."

Palmares Ocean Living properties are sought after by buyers seeking top-quality homes. Set in a natural amphitheater, with unspoiled views of the gentle waters of the Alvor Estuary and Lagos Bay, the resort offers peace and tranquility in abundance.
Palmares' luxurious dining options are paired with exceptional golf facilities, thanks to a 27-hole course designed by renowned American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Of course, the resort's accommodations are simply stunning. Villas overlooking the golf course and ocean are priced from €3.4 million. Each villa features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, spacious living areas, and a private pool. The low building density (only 5.7%) creates a unique harmony between the residential buildings, the greenery of the landscape and golf course, and the ever-changing blue of the ocean.
"Luxury never goes out of style. The sense of escape and tranquility at Palmares Ocean Living is truly special. Our owners can stroll along the sands of Meia Praia, dip their toes in the ocean, enjoy a round of golf or a swim in their own private pool, and then settle in for an exceptional dining experience as the perfect ending to a perfect day. We've built luxury into every detail.".
